Goal setting is more than a one time a year, New Year’s-nostalgic tradition where we write down our biggest dreams for the year or for our life and then hope and pray our way to success. Goal setting is a discipline.
As creatives, dreamers, and doers it is easy to get caught up in either the grand vision or the minutia details that seem to clutter our to-do lists; but it is important to keep both the vision alive and the checklist managed.
Despite our natural tendencies to lean one way or the other, as business owners, creatives, and leaders, we must learn the rhythms of moving between both. The vision cannot get lost in the details but we cannot keep our heads in the clouds either. Goal setting grounds us to the
realities of business and life while still allowing us to reach up and touch the stars.
Goal setting is simple but powerful. This talk will unpack both how and why to set goals, how to cultivate the discipline in your life and business, and what to expect during an intentional year of implementing this practice.
Feet on the Ground Head in the Clouds: setting goals that connect your dreams to your decisions
Hey hey! I’m Kim, founder of The Whiteboard Room where I am a speaker and coach to creative entrepreneurs. I am all about goal setting and accountability and it is my biggest honor to stand in the corner of amazing creatives and cheer them on.
I am a Georgia native living in Atlanta and am an adventurer to the core. I love Jesus, my people, and Chick-fil-a. I see potential in everyone and just can’t help but to believe in and cultivate that potential. Raw, heart-to-heart conversations give me life. And a good underdog story will make me laugh and cry and want to change the world! (...because I really do believe that we can change the world!)
Henry David Thoreau said this: “What you get by achieving your goals is not as important as what you become by achieving your goals.” This is my heart; goal setting doesn’t make you great, it is a tool that unlocks the greatness that is already there.
I am beyond excited to meet you all!
