Financial practices can make or break a new business. Creatives can sometimes have a bad reputation of not having any business sense. They can create gorgeous work, but behind the scenes, their financial life is in shambles. Katelyn and I have definitely made some mistakes, but we have also learned a lot about running a business and being financially responsible over the last 6 years in business. In this talk we will cover 5 practical ways to make sure that your finances are as strong as they can be!
FIVE WAYS TO BE FINANCIALLY FIT WITH MICHAEL ALSOP
So often in our businesses, we spend all of our time and resources trying to figure out the bottom line. How do we get more customers through our doors? How do we make more money? How do we gain more of a following? These issues are inherently wrong, but if we truly want to grow our businesses, we have to focus on something much deeper than social media and spreadsheets. For centuries, society has been creating communities around shared ideas and interests. As human beings we LOVE feeling like we're a part of something bigger than ourselves! So, I'm excited to teach about how we're adopted this idea into our marketing strategy! Instead of focusing on numbers and income, we have chosen to focus on giving our clients and experience and a community to be a part of!! Over the last 5 years we've been so blessed by our community that surrounds our business and I'm excited to help others do the same!
THE ART OF CREATING COMMUNITY
Hi! We're Katelyn and Michael Alsop and we are a husband and wife photography team! While we're known as wedding photographers who shoot a little over 30 weddings annually, host in-home workshops, coaching sessions and travel to multiple speaking engagements annually, there are several other things you should know about us. We're high school sweethearts, we're obsessed traveling and Netflix marathons and we have a strong attachment to our bichpoo puppy, Bokeh! We're thankful that God continues to give us opportunities to share our faith, our passion for photography, and teach about small business strategies! We live right outside of Richmond, VA and we're so excited to be a part of this conference!!!
